Assistant National Parts Manager
What brand(s) do you work for? Camping World What other teams do you work with the most? I interact with all levels of employees at dealerships, retail locations, service centers, and sales teams. What is your favorite thing about your job and why? I love my job. I seriously love my job. The thing I love the most is how much I can help other people. Watching people that come from other backgrounds grow in the RV industry, showing them how to use skills they have learned along the way, and helping them utilize those skills in the RV industry. I love watching team members grasp new concepts, become more proficient, and then help others along the way. I love parts in all aspects. I love the challenge that comes with RV parts. Everything you have around you is put into an RV, think about it. Car, truck parts, household appliances, new technologies (like solar), water systems, the list goes on and on. Being able to decode where parts came from, track down manufacturers, and help the company as a whole in various parts projects is exhilarating. I am new to the job at hand with national parts, but I truly feel like this is my calling. What made you interested in working in the outdoor recreation industry? I grew up in the industry. My father was a service manager and retired from Camping World. I have been around RVs and RV parts my entire life. I am a very hands-on person. I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle - hunting, fishing, dirt bikes, working on cars, woodworking, home repair, creating art, and painting. How has Camping World Holdings helped you succeed as a woman in the workplace? How is this different than other companies you have worked at? I could not agree more that Camping World Holdings has helped me succeed in my career. They did not base my job description on anything other than determination and talent. I took a break from Camping World to finish my degree and briefly worked in other industries only to gladly return to Camping World. With Camping World people hear me. I help and contribute in a positive way. What advice would you offer other women who are interested in a career at a Camping World Holdings brand? I would ask them to be honest and think about what really makes them happy. What could they do as a profession every day and be happy doing it? We have every career choice you could possibly explore from marketing, merchandising, logistics, parts, sales, service, retail, detail, and accounting. I would tell them to plan out what career path they want and go for it. I started at ground level answering phones and licking stamps; yes, we licked stamps back then. I moved up quickly because of my eagerness to learn and fascination with parts. Holding roles in management on the service team and the retail team, I promoted individuals with ambition and good hearts. I understand that not everyone wants to climb the corporate ladder, but Camping World as a whole finds a good fit for the people that work hard. I see National Managers, Regional, and Local Management recognizing talent. Camping World takes the time to understand strengths to help people excel in their careers.
